ICF CONSULTATIONS

Anastassis Spiliadis

PhD C., PGCert, MSc, MSc, PGCert, MSc, BA –

I established ICF Consultations (Individuals, Couples, Families) in 2018 in London, bringing to bear more than ten years of clinical experience as a psychotherapist – psychologist and a clinical supervisor in world-renowned institutions and hospitals, such as the Maudsley Centre, the Tavistock Centre and Great Ormond Street Hospital. My aim is to support individuals, couples, families and teams through a flexible and evidence-based psychotherapeutic psychotherapeutic context. Since 2021 my clinic, ICF, has a second base, in Athens, Greece and has expanded to include experienced colleagues and trainers.

Individual Couple & Family Psychotherapy

We utilise evidence-based systemic, relational, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioural therapy approaches and interventions depending on the presenting difficulties and what fits best for you. We see people from across the life-span and have experience offering compassionate psychotherapeutic support for a wide range of mental health, physical health and relational difficulties.

Couple therapy is a form of psychotherapy that can help you and your partner improve your relationship. Couple therapy can help with a wide range of relationship issues, including but not limited to, recurring conflicts, feelings of disconnection, infidelity, difficulties related to a couple’s sex life, challenges arising from external issues and substance misuse.

Family psychotherapy – also known as family therapy – can help those in close relationships to improve communication and to better understand and support each other. It enables family members to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on family strengths, and work together to make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.

In 2018 I coined the term Gender Exploratory Model / Gender Exploratory Therapy, aiming to describe in detail the way I work therapeutically with people experiencing gender-related distress.

Having worked for many years in specialist eating disorder services in the NHS, we attend to the same therapeutic approaches and principles in our private practice. I am trained in Family Therapy for Eating Disorders (FT-ED), both Family Therapy for Anorexia Nervosa (FT-AN) and Family Therapy for Bulimia Nervosa (FT-BN), which are evidence-based approaches in treating adolescent eating disorders.

“Slowing things down, opening things up and exploring (feelings, thoughts, experiences and identity development) should be at the core of the psychotherapeutic process”
